Enfield’s holiday activities and food programme (HAF) is fully funded by The Department for Education (DfE) and offers lots of fun ideas for keeping active, being creative and trying something new over the Easter, summer and winter school holidays.
Children and young people in receipt of benefit-related free school meals can receive up to 4 days of free fun and nutritious food during the Easter and winter holidays and up to 16 days during the summer holidays.
Each day will include a healthy meal, snacks and a selection of activities ranging from sports and physical activities, food workshops and much more.
The programme covers a minimum of 1 week in the Easter holidays, 1 week in the winter holidays, and 4 weeks in the summer holidays, for a minimum of 4 hours per day, 4 days per week.
The programme is fully funded by the DfE for children and young people from reception to Year 11 who are in receipt of benefits-related free school meals.
Your child will qualify for the HAF programme if all these statements apply:
- Your child or children are eligible for benefits-related free school meals
- You live in Enfield or your child or children attend school in Enfield
- Your child or children are in reception to year 11
For information on benefits-related free school meals, eligibility and how to apply, see our free school meals page.
If your child requires additional support, share as much detail as possible on your booking to ensure the provider is fully equipped to support your child. You can also contact your HAF provider to discuss in further detail.
We look forward to welcoming your child at one of the many activities and sessions in the borough this winter.

Current programme dates
Our Easter 2024 HAF programme will be running from Tuesday 2 to Friday 12 April (excluding weekends and bank holidays).
HAF vouchers will be sent out to parents and carers of all eligible Enfield children and young people via email or text from 13 March 2024.
For more information (or if you do not receive a HAF voucher for your child), contact us via email@example.com.
How to claim your voucher
To book a place for your child at an activity, you will need to be in receipt of a HAF voucher. Enfield schools will issue these vouchers to eligible families who are in receipt of benefits related free school meals.
Once vouchers have been issued, you will receive a text or email (or both), from firstname.lastname@example.org to say you have been issued a voucher - check your junk/spam folder.
For more information on how to claim your voucher, visit Holiday Activities.
If you do not receive a HAF voucher for your child and they are in receipt of benefits related free school meals, contact your child's school.
If you have not received your HAF voucher and your child's school is closed due to the school holidays, email email@example.com.
How to book
Once you have claimed your child’s voucher, you will be able to access the Holiday Activities booking site to view all available and suitable activities for your child’s age.
Each child will have credits on their vouchers which are used to book activities. The number of credits given is dependent on the holiday period, for example, for winter programmes, there will be 4 credits available to use for bookings. For more information on how to book places, visit Holiday Activities.
Cancel a booking
If your child cannot attend a booked session, you should cancel your booking as soon as possible so that another child can be offered the place. Once you have requested cancellation, the holiday camp will be notified to approve or decline the cancellation request. Once the cancellation has been approved, you will be notified by email and the credits used for the booking will be returned to your child’s voucher to allow you to book another activity.
Providers have the right to remove all future bookings if there is non-attendance of more than 2 consecutive days or if you have not confirmed your cancellation with the provider. We cannot guarantee that HAF vouchers will be reimbursed if bookings are cancelled late.
